Independent online sales

The activity

I sold Minecraft in-game currency through Odealo and Discord communities. I began by sourcing from a dealer and later moved to a larger supplier as order volumes grew.

My responsibilities

• Managed inventory availability and fulfilled customer orders.
• Attracted customers through paid advertisements and referral bonuses.
• Handled customer communication and service.
• Hired and trained an assistant to deliver orders for approximately two months, while retaining oversight of the account.

Results

Sales on Odealo generated approximately US$10,000 in revenue, with roughly 500 customer reviews and a 4.94 out of 5 seller rating. The revenue figure excludes sales through Discord.

What I learned

The activity gave me practical experience in responding to customer demand, coordinating supply and keeping orders moving. I paused the activity in February 2023 to focus on my GCSE examinations.
